Blankenberge Pier
21 Seat Stargazer Theatre at Train City, Blankenberge, Belgium
'Train City' is located at the end of Blankenberge's 350m pier in Belgium's most popular beachside resort. Originally built in 1894 the pier was destroyed during the First World War. It was rebuilt in 1933 and, having suffered the ravages of the wind and sea for many years, was recently restored to its former glory at a cost of €20 million.
Centre piece of the Train City attraction is a 21-seat Stargazer theatre with 2D visual system. The theatre contract was won by AI Group against fierce competition and proved an interesting and challenging project for the AI engineering and installation teams with the three 6-axis, 7-seat pods being installed in the basement of the pier which, at high tide, is actually below sea-level.
Train City regularly changes the library ridefilms keeping the attraction fresh and exciting and encouraging repeat visits.
