For the past 7 years one of AI Group's 14-seat Venturer capsule simulators, predecessor to the Morphis MovieRide Theatre, has been 'wowing' the crowds in the Flight Gallery of the Science Museum in London under a joint venture arrangement between the two organisations. The museum, which is one of the world's most respected institutions dedicated to the promotion of public science and technology, houses outstanding collections relating to science, technology and medicine.
The simulator offers a large selection of entertainment and educational ridefilm titles, including the ever popular Astro Canyon Coaster. It operates 7 days a week, 363 days a year and averages 67,000 riders per annum. Maintenance and support of the unit is carried out by AI Entertainment Products whilst staffing is provided by the museum.
These ridership figures, together with the longevity of the installation, provide testimony to the success of the arrangement, which sees net operating profits shared by the joint venture partners.
